Amplit
March 26
Amplit is a a domestic family business operating in the Helsinki metropolitan area, offering comprehensive building services solutions to companies. They are specialized in professionally carry out both small and large building services contracts, as well as maintenance and installation work.
Amplit hired us to create a short video highlighting everyday work in a realistic setting. We follow the serviceman “Bob” through a workplace as he encounters different challenges. Being the brave problem-solver that he is, the solution is never far away.
The video was shot on March 23 and took us approximately nine hours to film from start to finish. I used a Red V-Raptor X 8K with settings optimized for resolution while keeping the quality level at medium. I quickly realized that my hard drive was going to fill up fast and would probably be unusable for other projects in the near future—at least until I finished editing this video. I really enjoy working with Red cameras, and I find that the user interface becomes easier and easier to navigate with each new generation of cameras.
The mastermind behind the planning and organization was Tomas von Kantzow, the same person who wrote and directed Coffee in the Future and the Uneton48-winning short film Kaikki Järjestyy. Tomas has been experimenting extensively with AI-generated video lately and was also responsible for the VFX shots, which were created with the help of AI to save both time and money.
On March 26, the demo video was screened on the big screen at Amplit’s annual cocktail party, with over 300+ guests. I’m very proud of the final result and honestly didn’t have many expectations going into the screening. The feedback, however, was very positive and warmly received. A few minor adjustments were made afterward, but overall the response confirmed that the project had achieved exactly what we hoped for.
